[The small delay in answering is because Chara got distracted. Not because they felt strange with the decision to hand the choice over to them. As the little voice in the back of Frisk's head, they didn't exactly make choices, just narrate them, until it all came down to killing everything.
[It does take them awhile to arrive. For all their wandering and the instructions to get there, they still are not completely used to Hadriel.
But finding Frisk was easy after that. Perhaps it was the nature of their relationship, of 'us'. This time however, they approach from the front rather than from behind the child.]
[It takes effort, to not visibly perk up at their approach. It's the essence of 'us', after all- a type of constant that didn't seem nearly as strong, now that they're here.]
Hey. [Of course, they aren't quite as...eloquent in their wordage, but a greeting is a greeting.
It's well-meant. Frisk casts a thumb at the tower looming over them, head canting slightly in question. You ready?]
Chara looks up to observe the tower, making them feel small. The building and height were impressive. Quite a thing to see after enough Resets did away with any need for a map of the Underground.
They nod in response to Frisk's unasked question before moving to go inside. Chara doesn't walk far enough that Frisk would be in any hurry to keep up. Just the usual pace.]
[They have no idea who you're talking about. Therefore, it never happened.
Frisk is quick to follow either way, allowing Chara to keep the lead for the time being as they take in...not much. The earthen space they find themselves in doesn't go so far as amazing decor, or even some decor, though a few, small signs of people living in the area are obvious. The fact that it's clean, mostly.
Looks like the only way forward, aside from a door adorned with an odd looking symbol, is a circular stairwell heading up to...who knows where.
Are you a first-floor kind of kid, Chara? Or do you like to get high?]
Chara could pick this place. They could make all the dirt jokes they wanted if they did. But no, that's probably tasteless. They're learning their sense of humor isn't all that good.]
Up. Two bedrooms would be the best.
[One for each of them, both together with some privacy if they needed it. But they wait for Frisk's response. It'd...be fair if they had a say too?]
[As if they're going to have a problem with that. Hopefully, the rooms here actually do have two bedrooms; they'd never asked, and they haven't gotten round to poking their head into spaces they aren't allowed- not alone, at least.]
[A quiet note of agreement; it's not The Knife, but Frisk is quick to present a knife; something someone had helped them collect from the armory when they'd first arrived. They also have their taser... perhaps later, they'd ask Chara to check it's effectiveness. The answers they'd gotten thus far hadn't been the best.
[The Real Knife is sitting comfortably in Chara's hand. They had an excuse ready if it turns out someone lived here but for now it was better to just use ACT.
They pull open the door, step inside and take in the sights. Doors leading off to bedrooms and persumably a bathroom, various appliances and the strange way things curved. The straight edges they normally thought of a house having weren't really here.
But more importantly, no monsters. Nobody here at all.
Frisk slowly lowers their own weapon, eyeing off the odd curvature of the space around them, before wandering over to peer through one of the doorways.
Just a bedroom. Clean, but not in use.]
I guess this is ours, now.
[Ten years old and already co-renting. What a concept.]
[They'd make a joke about charging rent but there is no money here. Chara checks another room and discovers it's a bedroom as well. They feel something about finding a room. Yay.
There's a bathroom and a place to cook and relax. It's a bit nostalgic in a way. Too bad neither of them knew fire magic.]
I believe so. Feel free to pick a bedroom as I picked the place.
[The real question is do either of them know how to cook point blank (outside of spaghetti, that is). Since they're already close to the door they glanced in before, well. Frisk nods their head towards it, cracking an almost tentative smile at their new roommate.]
[It slips in easily. * You feel something. You just can't put a word to it yet.
With Determination, there was always a sense of moving. Going...somewhere. A jittery feeling or maybe that was them because when they woke it surged. An odd feeling when you've spent an unknown time in the dirt.]
That works. There are probably books around that we could find or someone to ask.
[If they could be trusted around more knives and fire, that is. And there's that old craving for chocolate now that they're discussing food. Yay!]
Well. There isn't really point to hiding them now, is there? Chara's already got one. Still; despite everything-
Maybe they could really make something of this space. A- well. Not that word, precisely, but a place they both like. In fact, Frisk's Determined to make it so.

But nope, just distraction.]
I can. Will you show me the place?
no subject
The important thing is that they're responding at all.]
Yes! Do you know where the spires are?
no subject
[It was an awkward conversation for the person speaking to them at the time, but hey, they learned more about the area.]
Do you wish to meet there?
no subject
[Frisk will simply assume that Chara wants to meet now; even if they don't, the other child really doesn't have anything better to do.
Waiting for Chara- it might not seem like much. And it isn't, really. But it's better than any alternatives they can think of.]

Greetings Frisk.

Then we go up.

They stop on what they assume is the sixth floor. Room 601, apparently. It looks empty. Chara tries the door handle and it isn't locked.]
Are you ready to go in?
[They're confident that they can handle any 'surprise monsters!' the place may pull on them. Still, it's better that both parties are at the alert.]

We are alone.

[Maybe it a past timeline Papyrus or Undyne may have taught them. But it doesn't matter right now.
They smile back.]
I know some recipes for soup. What about you?

There's a sense of ease to this that they've never had before. For once, they have the time to rest. To-

It's the least they could do.]
